Baby Banda is proud to announce the official panelist lineup for Baby Banda Pregnancy and Baby Fair scheduled to take place from 25th to 27th September 2026 at Nairobi’s Sarit Expo Center. This year’s discussion, themed “Finding you, raising them” will bring together leading industry voices to explore why it is increasingly important for mothers to take care of themselves even as they learn and focus to take care of their new born child. The panelist will tackle different angles on parenting and these are spread out over the whole weekend.
“We are thrilled to host such a distinguished group of experts to take us through these key discussions during this fair,” said Wanjiku Njuguna Minjire, the Director at Baby Banda. “Their diverse backgrounds and deep insights in the Pregnancy and family health sector will provide our audience with invaluable perspectives on how to ensure everyone’s health is properly taken care of.
On Friday, the Baby Banda Pregnancy and Baby Fair will have two panelists from 2:00pm to 5:00pm taking the mums through two key topics that align with the theme.
Dr. Paul Koigi is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist at Aga Khan University Hospital. Dr. Koigi is an associate member of several medical organizations that have contributed to his vast experience in the OB-GYN department. They include, Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society (KOGS), Africa Reproductive Care Society (ARCS), Fertility and Andrology Society of Kenya (FASK) and Clinical Research Society of Kenya (CRSK). His session will focus on ‘Getting Pregnant and Loving it’. Dr Koigi will be joined by Shuaib Ramadhan of Mater Misericordiae hospital Nairobi, Westlands Branch. He is a registered nurse and a midwife by profession with over 5 years worth of experience.
To wrap up the day one FAIR, the second panelist, Deborah Mate will take over the 4:00pm session that will focus on ‘Finding You’. She is a Counseling Psychologist at Malica Maternity Hospital. She is a Licensed Counseling Psychologist and Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Specialist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, organizations, and communities through trauma, emotional distress, and psychosocial challenges.
Her work focuses on providing survivor-centered care, policy advocacy, workplace wellness, and inclusive mental health programming—especially for underserved populations such as survivors of gender-based violence and mothers of children with disabilities in Nairobi’s informal settlements.
The third panelist is Dr Tatiana Elwes, MBChB MRCGP(’23) DGH, a Family Physician and Founder of Thistle Health. She trained in the UK, and spent seven years working within the NHS.
Since moving to Kenya in 2023, she has opened a primary care clinic, Thistle Health, in Karen, Nairobi, where she provides personalized care to individuals and families in the community. She is dedicated to empowering families with the knowledge and confidence to support their children’s health and wellbeing, while working towards a more sustainable approach to healthcare.
She will take charge of the Sunday afternoon session that discusses, ‘Your growing toddler’ from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
