A diaper bag is a storage bag with many pocket-like spaces that is big enough to carry everything needed by someone taking care of a baby while taking a short outing. A diaper bag has many compartments, both internal and external, and comes in many different sizes and colours. This type of bag is ideal for those always on the go and for those parents with more than one child.
Features of a Good Diaper Bag
• It should be washable and easy to clean as you will most likely experience spills and will want them to clean up easily.
• It should be durable and well stitched to withstand continual use.
• Changing Mat: The diaper bags should come with a changing mat. This definitely comes in handy when you’re on the go and need to change baby on a hard or dirty surface. It also protects surfaces from incidental soiling by the baby during a diaper change.
• Pockets: Pockets are incredibly helpful when you’re toting everything you’ll need for baby in keeping everything organized. The more pockets a diaper bag has, the easier it will be to find things e.g. finding the baby’s burping cloth when he or she burps.
• Compartments: The bag should have compartments that help to keep things separated. You’ll find that keeping a compartment just for soiled clothes makes it easier to keep the rest of the bag clean for other things like clean clothes, blankets, bottles, teethers, etc.
• The Straps are what you’ll use to carry the bag. Ensure that they are comfortable and easy on your shoulder.

• Colour: What colour and/or pattern you want on your diaper bag will depend greatly on who will be carrying it the most.
