BLANKETS

Hello
I have a little baby girl who is 5 months old.
My main problem is that of late she really really hates being covered up by a blanket, she would just kick it off a few minutes after I have wrapped her in it. At first it was adorable but then it became alarming since she is exposing herself to the cold.
My question is; are blankets ideally safe for infants or do they stand a higher risk of Cot death?? This could either be from becoming too hot or risk pulling the blanket to her face and suffocate.
Also what are the alternative ways of keeping baby warm other than the blanket?
Response highly appreciated.:)

If your baby does not like being covered, it is better to avoid using a blanket as she may cover her face with it.
You can layer your baby with clothes and ensure that she is warmly dressed at night and avoid covering her. Another alternative is to use sleep sacks that the baby wears.
