Weaning

Hi, well I started weaning my 5 months and 7 days old girl last night. I’m so happy she loved it and enjoyed the whole meal (Rice cereal). So should I give water and how much of it should I give? How many times should I feed her in a day? Can I do fruits next week? I think the best ones are pawpaws. Which other fruits can she have and what else in terms of foods can I introduce?

Since she is not yet six months old, please feed her just once a day and you can move to three times with snacks in between after 6 months, give no more than 120ml of water per day and just 30 ml at any one time.  Before 6 months, it is actually recommended that you stick to cereals only like the rice cereal and porridge and then start the fruit after around the 6 month, remember even a month makes a big difference in the development of the gut, and complex sugars found in the grains allows the body to get used to this release of the sugar in these carbohydrates whilst the simple sugars in the fruits give too high boost of sugar
