What is the recommended food for baby now that she is almost approaching the weaning time? Are there any other basic needs for the baby?

You can start with infant cereals/ porridge like rice,maize meal. Enrich with a little of your own breastmilk or add a pinch of sugar and some oil/margarine. Other great foods for the beginning are fruits like bananas and avocado. Quantity matters – Start with 2-3 tablespoons of the food per feed and increase slowly.
Introduce new foods one at a time. It will help you track for allergies or foods that cause constipation to your baby.
Be sure to introduce water to baby’s diet.
