30yrs, 8wks pregnant, born again Christian and single and not told anyone |

I’m 30 years, first time pregnant, born again Christian and single. Need advice on how to break the news to my family, church and community. My biggest fear is rejection. I am 8 weeks and have a lot of pregnancy fatigue. Also, are there pregnant mothers support groups in Nairobi area? Please share. Thanks, I really need your advice and support.

When a woman gets pregnant unexpectedly, it is usually a trying and challenging time as you come to terms to these news. However, every baby is to be celebrated even though the circumstances might be difficult. I would encourage you to first share the news with a member of your family that is usually tolerant e.g. an aunt, or a sister, and they can then help you share the news to the other members of the family. Try and surround yourself with supportive friends who will stand with you even if the other people in your life might be disapproving. Babies, once they are born, do have a way of drawing people near and even these people soon forget their disapproval once the baby is born. I wish you all the best in your journey; purpose to embrace and enjoy it!
