Advice on how to deal with colic

1 Answers

Babies who have colic are extremely uncomfortable. However the good news is that babies usually outgrow colic within the first 6months – why – because their digestive systems mature within that time allowing for better digestion of food. Colic is mainly caused by gas in baby’s tummy and this can be got from foods that mum eats or air that gets in when baby is suckling. I’m not sure there is a “treatment” per se for colic. Colicky babies are restless and it can be very frustrating. There are things you could do to make life easier for you & baby. When baby cries, try and soothe your baby as best as you can, rock them etc. Also burp them a lot more during feedings. You may also want to look at diet and eliminate what could cause gas.
