My baby has a reddish diaper rash. Which cream can I use?
A diaper rash is mainly caused by the moisture and wetness in contact with the baby’s skin. Here are a few tips to aid the diaper rash to clear.
1. Keep your baby clean and dry by changing the diaper as frequently as possible.
2. Clean your baby’s bottom using a clean cotton cloth or cotton wool with warm water. Give your baby a bath frequently with a mild soap and afterwards rinse in plain water and pat the skin dry.
3. Give your baby as much diaper-free time as possible, to allow the air to aid healing.
4. Apply a thin layer of barrier cream or ointment before putting on a clean diaper. Examples of good barrier creams are Zinc & Castor barrier creams, Sudocream, etc.
5. If the diaper rash does not improve after 3 days, please see your health provider for further consultation.
