I have a Macdonald stitch and am having pains. Should I be concerned?

This is the stitching done to the cervix that could open before the baby is due. Some women go through miscarriages because their cervix opened before the right time. The cervix is stitched to prevent this and opened around 36-37 weeks of the pregnancy. This gives the baby a chance of survival. You don’t need to be very concerned if the pain is not too severe and is responding well to pain killers like panadol. What should worry you is if there’s bleeding or the water breaks.
