Hi guys, my expectant friend needs some advice on how to get her 3 year old son to move from their bed before her newborn arrives…. any tips will be appreciated, thanks.

Set up a new space for the toddler and make it age appropriate using paint, stickers etc. Make a big deal about the move and prepare the toddler beforehand by boosting his confidence and by showing him that he is a big boy. On the day of the move, take him to his room and put him in bed, promise him that you will check on him every few minutes until he falls asleep. The next morning give him a congratulatory gift on this achievement. Toddlers thrive on positive reinforcement and do adapt pretty fast when given the chance.
