Birth Control

I’m currently exclusively breastfeeding my 3 month old baby and I need to know what you advise about Mirena IUD… I have 3 children now and the medics will not agree to a TL as they say I’m too young.
I have also had a history with fibroids that disappeared during my first pregnancy and very heavy and painful periods. Help!

The IUD (Intra Uterine Device) is a good birth control for a breastfeeding mum. However, because of your history of heavy bleeding, it might not be the ideal method for you. You might consider the barrier methods or the other non- estrogen hormonal methods that will not hinder your breast milk include Implant methods, injection, mini pill. Please do consult your health provider to discuss the best options for you
