I have been on the femiplan pill for the last 3 years. My hubby and I are now ready for children. I have been off the pill for 1 month and 1 week now. Last week, I had a home pregnancy test as my period was late, but the test came negative.
I wanted to know how long it takes to regain fertility and what steps I can take as we try to get pregnant.
Thank you.
After stopping the pill, fertility would usually return immediately. Continue to have sex regularly especially around the time that you ovulate. Signs of ovulation include: increased cervical mucous – you will notice slippery “egg white” looking cervical mucous, increased sex-drive, breast tenderness, bloating and water weight, swollen vagina or vulva, ovulation pain or mid pain. You may feel cramping or achiness around the time of ovulation, moodiness or increased energy. Do try and relax as it may take a few months to get pregnant.
