I have a 2 months 4 weeks old son who is doing very well. He is 6.4 kgs. I have noticed that every evening, I hold him on my lap directly facing me; he then opens his mouth very wide while crying as if he wants to breastfeed. It happens mostly after I have breastfed him. Is this normal? These “fits” last for about a minute.

Apart from alerting you of their needs, babies also cry for several other reasons like to relieve stress and show their displeasure. He could be just communicating with you and it is important to hold and love on him. You can burp him and then try and offer the breast again and if he still wants to feed then he will go ahead.
